Phew! What a week!

A week filled to the brim of events, learning and challenge!

Wow! I think it would be fair to say this week has been exceptionally challenging for many reasons, none more so than receiving the Ofsted call on Monday. A call we have been waiting for, for some time and we were ready. Every stakeholder of the school played their part in ensuring we demonstrated to the Inspectors were were working effectively and collaboratively in the best interests of the pupils and alongside this, our pupils were amazing each and every one of them. I could not have been prouder of our parents, our staff, our Governors and our pupils. We await the report when it is finally published, but we all live to fight another day.

On Monday, the Year 5 class got to enjoy deeper learning regarding their Science on earth and space inside an inflatable Planetarium. The same specialist then taught Year 3 on the different types of Rocks and Soils as part of their Science studies. We have such a broad curriculum we offer our pupils.

At the same time as having Ofsted, the school had already arranged for a Quality Mark Assessor to visit on Wednesday to determine whether our quality of education in History was to a good standard. Mrs. Holt has worked tirelessly to drive the profile of this subject forward and I am pleased to state we were awarded a high Silver and are within touching distance of Gold with the capacity to improve and embellish a couple of areas in order to upgrade to the highest level. I have to say it is immensely hard to achieve a Quality Mark because not many do achieve this (only five schools in the Eastern region), so we have done exceptionally well to obtain this. Well done all.

Our children lucky enough to get through to the County stage of the Cross Country participated at Langley School, Taverham on Thursday. All eleven of our runners did superbly and made the school proud whatever their finishing place, because only the best of the best were there. Congratulations to our Year 3 female runner for coming seventh place, which is a phenomenal achievement.

Thursday also so our Year 3 class host a Senior Citizen's lunch for their older relatives. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event and the school received so much positive feedback, particularly when the school choir came in and delivered note perfect performance. Well done to all Year 3 children and every one else who made the occasion such a success.

Next week, we have a Years 5 & 6 Boy's football match against Edward Worlledge and our Christingle Service in school with Reverend Jo.

Have a great weekend everyone.
