Bikeability returns to teach Years 5 and 6 how to stay safe on the roads!
It has been fantastic to see the Bikeability crew return to support some of our Years 5 and 6 children learn how to stay safer on the roads when riding their bicycles. The agency staff said the behaviour was strong from the groups and they were pleased they were able to get through so much learning with them so swiftly. The children enjoyed the sessions and should now be able to maintain their cycles properly themselves.
This week I have been conducting a learning walk on the effectiveness of writing. I have been impressed with what I have seen in the classes as the children I spoke to all liked writing and could give me solid reasons why they liked it and how it could be of use in their futures.
It was great that so many children supported the Meat Free lunch on Tuesday. I could clearly see they enjoyed what was on offer and were happy to sing the little song which had been part of my assembly the week before: "One day a week, eat less meat!" We do really have a very eco-friendly bunch in school at the moment.
Next week, we have the Year 6 parents' meeting for SATS information. This is on Wednesday 29th April straight after school.
Have a restful weekend everyone!
