Summer Term is here!

First week of Summer Term sees sunshine and warmth!
Welcome back to the Summer Term at Ormesby Junior. Hopefully, you have all had a lovely Easter break and feel ready to return for our final push of the academic year. We have lots of events over the Summer Term to look forward to and the majority of these can be seen from our Summer Events Calendar sent out to you, alongside my termly newsletter. There may be some alterations to what we have shared with you and other newly-organised items that may spring up as the term unfolds, but as normal, we will provide further details closer to the time.
This week has seen two staff training sessions one on the INSET day on Monday and the second via a twilight workshop on Trauma Awareness on Wednesday, which was very well delivered and was extremely interesting for all of us to further enhance our array of skills.
The children have returned raring to go and it has been lovely to watch them enjoying their work and play inside and outside. The majority of our children always show a genuine thirst for learning and are eager to do the best they can each and every day. Our Year 6 children will busily preparing for their SATS in a few weeks, whilst at the same time preparing for their transitions to High School.
Next week, on Tuesday, we have our 'Meat Free' Day where all school-prepared lunches are going to be vegetarian. This is to help support our school's push for stronger climate and sustainability. Please show your support by ensuring home-packed lunches are also free of meat. Tuesday is also the Year 5 parental meeting for the up-and-coming residential trip to Overstrand Hall PGL. This will take place straight after school. We also have Bikeability taking place for Years 5 and 6 over the course of the week, so those this relates to will need their bicycles and helmets in school on each day they are riding.
Have a relaxing weekend everyone!
