Comic Relief and Easter Eggs!

The town was painted red and we then covered it in chocolate!

It has been an incredibly hectic week and one which has seen Red Nose Day, Easter Eggs, Curriculum Celebration, Reports. Science and Engineering, Sheep and a Choir trip.

On Monday, the Junior school had some sheep delivered to form part of our scientific enquiry for Science and Engineering Week. All classes have been able to engage with and learn from livestock up close. We even had a talk from one of the shepherds, alongside a group from John Grant pupils who had come over to experience the occasion. They have definitely brought a calming influence to the school.

The Years 5 and 6 Boys' football team played another league fixture against Hemsby and this really was a game of two halves with Ormesby gifting Hemsby a three-goal advantage by half-time following poor decision-making. In the second half, the team came out with more energy and a renewed will to change the game, clawing two goals back unanswered and narrowly missing out on a deserved equaliser. A good game to watch – well done boys!

On Tuesday, our Junior choristers went with their Infant counterparts to participate in the Norfolk County Music Festival in Norwich held at the King's Centre. The children performed two songs beautifully with so much enthusiasm and were awarded with a Highly Commended Plus judgement by the adjudicator. The Federation was very proud of them all. Mrs. White-Joubert is also offering those who took part an ice-cream treat as a reward. Thank you to all those who helped on the day and the spectators who supported the schools.

As soon as we returned, parents were invited in to look through the learning journeys of the children. The children really enjoy doing this because it gives them a platform to describe what they have achieved, what they have liked and what they could improve upon. It was very well attended again, so thank you to all those family members who visited.

On Friday, it was a non-uniform day in exchange for an Easter egg, which will go towards our egg raffle on the final day of term. It was also Red Nose Day, so the children and staff all donned something red to commemorate the occasion, alongside a red nose.

Friday was also the day that our Spring Term reports were sent home to parents ahead of next week's parent-teacher meetings. I hope everyone has booked a slot in order to discuss with teachers how their children are getting on. If you have not, there is still time to do so.

Next week, we have Rev. Jo visiting for our Easter assembly service, we have another fixture for the football team against Caister, plus we have our decorated Easter-egg and egg raffle draw. Another busy end to the term.

Have a great weekend everyone!
