Harvest Time Again!

Harvest Donations depict wondrous generosity!
Well, it is raining today, but that has certainly not dampened the generosity of our families, all of whom have brought in the children's donations towards our Harvest Festival celebrations. I have no doubt this will be well received at the local food bank, so thank you.
The weather did spoil the Years 5 & 6 Boys' Football tournament a little, but the team acquitted themselves admirably making me extremely proud of their efforts as they made each team we faced play to the best of their abilities in order to get something from the game. We have the remainder of the league season ahead to enjoy, so come on Ormesby!
The Halloween disco took place on Thursday and thanks must go to the PTFA and DJ Kev for organising and providing the entertainment respectively. Thank you to all staff and helpers who ensured everything ran smoothly. The costumes, masks and face paints were very spooky, so lots of thought had clearly gone into achieving this with parents at home. I think my favourite outfit was the Grinch, but I bet it was hot wearing that in the Hall.
I spent some time in Year 5 this week teaching and I enjoyed being back in the class with such lovely children, who engaged well with a good sense of humour, contributed positively and achieved a great deal. This bodes well for their transition into Year 6 next year.
Next week, we have parent-teacher meetings so hopefully you have all received the relevant class links via Dojo to book in with the teachers. For convenience for all, these are either via telephone or virtual and specific face-to-face meetings will be arranged directly with the teachers should these be required on Tuesday 20th October. Additional SEND clinic meetings will be held after half-term for any parents of children with SEND who may require one. These will be arranged with the SENDCOs. On Wednesday, we will be heading up to Church for our Harvest Festival, so we hope the weather will be nice and on Friday we will be holding our first Virtual Competition of the year with Premier Sports, so all children need to be in sports clothing on that day. We will also be doing our Speak Out: Stay Safe workshops also next week.
Have a relaxing weekend everyone!
