Heading High!

Hickling Headteachers for the Day lead by example!

Hello, we are the Hickling House Captains and we have been Headteachers for the Day shadowing Mr. Young and undertaking some tasks for him. We have completed a learning walk talking to children about their year. We have led an Infant Good Work assembly giving out certificates to the little ones. We have played with the children at break time and been tired out by them. We bought some bee equipment and led a Junior Leaders' meeting finalising the narration parts on the 360 video we made earlier of the school. The video does look amazing. We have had a lot of fun and enjoyed the day, especially the cups of tea, squash and biscuits.

Well done guys! You were amazing as the final pair of House Captains for this academic year. Great job!

Another week flies by as we move into the final month of the school year. There will be a lot of events over the coming weeks, so please ensure you stay abreast of our communications about the different elements being organised.

On Monday, the children from Infants all visited the Junior school to take part in collaborative cross-phase Geo-Caching. The older children were amazing with the younger ones leading the activities and teaching them how Geo-Caching works. The younger children were in awe of the older ones and listened attentively. A great learning opportunity for all.

Next week, on Tuesday, we have the Norfolk Library Service visiting to promote the Summer Reading Challenge in assembly. On Wednesday, the Year 2 children are coming over to have an additional French transition session. On Friday, it is non-uniform day in exchange for a Tombola prize. We also have the Coastguard in to do an assembly on beach and sea safety in light of recent tragedies regarding children near open water.

Have a great weekend everyone.
