Barton Heads It Up!
Barton House Captains are the first Headteachers for the Day in 2026!
Hello, we are the Barton House Captains and we have had the opportunity to be Headteacher for the Day and have shadowed Mr. Young sharing in his daily duties. We have completed a learning walk at both schools around challenge and support. We have spoken to all ages of children. We have led an Infant good work assembly and modelled a fine example for them to follow by leading games with them at break time. This was really fun. We spent some money on new resources in order to make the school better. We also organised and a hosted a JLT meeting. Our favourite moments were going over the the Infant school and buying new equipment. We have enjoyed the day and look forward to our next project.
The two House Captains from Barton did very well today as Headteachers and I was very proud of how well they interacted with the younger children when asking them about how they are challenged and supported in class.
The Year 6 children went off to E.N.S.F.C. to take part in a STEM workshop on renewable energy. The children had ro make a fan/wind turbine.out of given resources and then test their efficiency against a wind source. The children enjoyed their aspirational trip a great deal, because it was so interactive.
Next week, on Friday 6th February, due to it being National Storytelling Week, we have commissioned a local Yarnsmith to visit and recant some tales to the children.
Have a relaxing weekend everyone.
