Harvest Donations follow Disco Fever!
It has been another busy week as teachers prepare for parent-teacher meetings next week. Please ensure you have all signed up for a meeting with your child's class teacher. This may have been in-person, via the telephone or virtually. After half-term, our SENDCOs are happy to meet additionally with parents of children with SEND should a meeting be required or requested. Termly reports should also go out today, so parents can see how their children have settled in this year so far. I hope everything is positive.
Our PTFA kindly held a Halloween disco this week alongside DJ Kev and children got to dress up in spooky costumes and enjoy dancing and games in exchange for some sweetie prizes. Thank you to all those who attended and supported.
I am always amazed at the generosity of our families, as you can see from the picure above, as we gathered in the food donations in exchange for our Harvest non-uniform day. These will be sent over to a local foodbank to offer support to thise families in greatest need.
As a school, we have the highest of expectations for positive behaviour and where this falls short the school always addresses it swiftly and robustly. We must ensure we follow our policies and procedures and explore every avenue possible to aid specifc children involved to improve their behaviour, this always involves liasiing with external specialist agencies, adjusting our school approaches or implementing something completely new. Perhaps to the outside eye this does not seem a quick process, and at times, we would agree with that, but please all be reassured that a variety of stringent measures are being applied to improve pockets of poor behaviour for all concerned.
The Years 5 & 6 Boy's footballers had their first competitive outing in a tournament at Flegg High. They all did extremely well and next week, we have our firrst cup fixture against Cliff Park at home on Wednesday. Letters for this will go out Monday.
Next week on Wednesday, we will be linking with the Infant School to head to the village Church to have our Harvest service with Reverend Jo. If the weather is poor, we will remain in each school and Rev. Jo will come to visit us. On Friday, children will need to be in sports' clothing as we have our first Virtual Competition of the year in Hockey with Premier Sports. It is also the final day before half-term and our PTFA will, once again, be selling doughnuts after school as a nice treat.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
